Seasoned Seasonal
I would like to date a seasoned poet.
His mind should be autumn-sharp
full of contrast, contradictions
but always reflective.
Tired with travels in his mind -
Humbled by piling wisdom
His walk should be the color white - pure.
Shedding the ornaments, illuminating the core of his step.
Injected with the knowledge of a cycle's nature.
A slow left, a hopeful right - cyclically.
His walk is mesmerizing, but difficult to step in.
His breath should be expired -
into me - to inspire.
A reminder of something new under the layers of me.
It will always show, there is something added to me
to weather storms and sleep less.
And his tomorrow should be liberating.
Reducing the layers of yesterday, today, to see tomorrow's skin.
And his tomorrow's skin should darken like chocolate.
So we can melt it together.
And use it as dip.
For the contrast, to feed me. _________________ "I could've been a sign post, I could've been a clock. I could've been one of these things first."--Nick Drake. |

Oh my my!
Miss Moon you've really made my day. As a lover of poetry but not yet a poet, I must say it comes across as if you've delved into the fathoms of a poet's inner core and acquainted yourself with his secretly treasured human qualities.
What you've penned is a poem that reflectively tentalizes the very inspiring annals of the mind's creativity.
Just touching, really. Thanks for sharing. |

I have no idea at what point an amateur poet becomes an official poet - not to say that i'm calling you an amateur, just that being a fan and a frequent writer makes you a poet.
I might be reaching by assuming. still, everyone here puts their heart into writing, i'm going to call everyone a poet. and you no less because i'm a fan.
Anyway, thank you. that was incredibly kind of you. it took time to recover when half way through i realized i was blushing. at first i thought i was coming down with something - how random i should suddenly feel an unexpected rush of blood. now i feel inspired to go do more.
thank you again. _________________ "I could've been a sign post, I could've been a clock. I could've been one of these things first."--Nick Drake. |

Lol@half way through. It happens unconsciously at most times I suppose. A well meant word from another person can trigger an unpredictable chain of events and that could be the sphere within which for a human 'to blush' falls in, which no other animal does. We're an interesting species, don't you think?
Yes, I know what you mean when you qualify as a poet as anyone who puts heart into their words. I guess one becomes a poem when his/her words cater to the expressive human need in us that always aches to recognize a similarily (of reality or simply the interpretation, description and meaning of private world) in others?
For that reason alone, I hereby sentence you to life for being a poetess, and a good one at that.
Honest, I enjoyed the poet but I don't want to make you blush. |
